1 Way Only--What A Friend

We all have friends. Usually someone who likes the same things we do. Some we just hang out with. Some we play with. Some we go to school with. But do you have a friend who is absolutely dependable–one who keeps his or her word no matter what? Well, there is one Friend who is absolutely trustworthy. One who always keeps His word. One who has already gone the extra mile for each and every one of us. That Friend is Jesus. What does He ask of us?

¹²My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. ¹³Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴You are my friends if you do what I command. –John 15:12-14 (NIV)

Yes, Jesus is a true Friend. He loves us so much that He died on a cross for you and me. He wants all of us to have salvation. But in order to have a Friend like Jesus, we need to obey what He commanded. He wants us to love one another. His Word, the Bible, tells us this. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." –John 14:6 (NIV)

Jesus always keeps His word. Jesus loves us. What a Friend we have in Jesus!
