The Glory of God

by Kimberly B. Southall

There are many beautiful songs and poems in the book of Psalms in the Bible. Just one of many is Psalm 19. Here are just the first four verses of it:

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
--Psalm 19:1-4a NIV

This wonderful song reminds us that the skies, sun, moon, stars, and all of the beautiful things God has created "speak" to us about Him. No, they don't actually talk in words like we do. Instead, the fact that they are there for us and everyone else to see is a constant reminder for us that God is here for us. No matter where we are on this earth and no matter what language we speak (or even if we cannot speak at all), we can see the wonders God created and know He is there for us. His creation declares the glory of God!
