Jesus promised us that He would go to the Father's (God's) house to prepare a place for us. You can read that in the Bible at John 14:2. But have you ever wondered just what Jesus is preparing in the Father's house for us? There are other scriptures in the Bible which give us more information.

One of the things Jesus is preparing for us is a feast. Sometimes it is called a feast, sometimes it is called a supper, and sometimes it is called a banquet in the Bible. But make no mistake about it, it will be the finest feast of all time! All those who truly love and obey God and follow His Son, Jesus, will be invited and eat at the feast.

One scripture tells us:

. . . "Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God." Luke 14:15 (NIV)

And another tells us:

Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God." Revelation 19:9 (NIV)

So we can see from both of these scriptures that we will be blessed to be invited and get to eat at this fine feast. But why do you suppose it will be such a great blessing? Well, in addition to just being with our wonderful, loving God, there's another scripture which tells us something else wonderful:

6On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine–the best of meats and the finest of wines. 7On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; 8he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. Isaiah 25:6-8 (NIV)

Wow! The Lord will take away all death forever. He will wipe away all the tears and remove all disgrace from all the earth. This wonderful feast will be full of joy and comfort and happiness. And if you are one of Jesus' followers, then you are invited and will eat at this great feast with Him!
