Sound The Alarm--by Timothy A. Southall

When someone's house is on fire, the fire department is called. The firemen are sent out with the lights flashing, sirens blaring, and at fast speed. They have to get there as soon as possible in order to save lives and property.

Christians are like firemen. We have the job of telling others about Jesus and saving them from the fires of hell. This needs to be done today, because we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16 (NIV)
. . .
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
. . .
Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:13-14 (NIV)

Those who are saved have their names in the Book of Life having eternal life with Christ, but those who don't will have eternal punishment in fire.

If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 (NIV)

As Christians, we have our orders from the "Fire Chief," Jesus. We are to help others find salvation from the fire. We are to make disciples of Jesus by baptizing and teaching others about Him and His Word, saving them from the fires of eternal punishment. What are you waiting for? Sound the alarm!
