There are many scriptures in God's Word which mention the subject of light. Let's take a survey through God's Word to see what it says regarding light . . . we'll just hit some of the highlights:

The Lord (Father and Son) is referred to as light (2 Samuel 22:29; Psalm 4:6; Psalm 27:1; Psalm 76:4; Psalm 104:2; Psalm 118:27; Isaiah 42:6; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 60:19-20; Micah 7:8; John 1:9; John 8:12; John 9:5; John 12:35-36, 46; Acts 9:3-5; Acts 22:6-8; Acts 26:13-15; 1 John 1:5, 7).
God lives in light (1 Timothy 6:16).
God's Word is light (Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 6:23; Titus 1:3; 2 Peter 1:19).
The Gospel is light (2 Corinthians 4:4; 2 Timothy 1:10).
God's kingdom is of light (Colossians 1:12).
Light comes from God (Genesis 1:3-5; Ezra 9:8; Psalm 18:28; Psalm 36:9; Isaiah 45:7; Revelation 21:23-24; Revelation 22:5).
Light is good (Genesis 1:4; Job 30:26).
Light is better than darkness (Ecclesiastes 2:13).
From the beginning, God separated light from darkness (Genesis 1:18).
Light has no fellowship with darkness (2 Corinthians 6:14).
In Old Testament times, God gave a literal example that when others are stumbling about in darkness, His people are in the light (Exodus 10:21-23; Nehemiah 9:12; Psalm 78:14; Psalm 105:39). And He continued to supply separation of the light from the darkness for His people throughout the Israelites exodus (Exodus 13:21; Exodus 14:19-20).
Jesus referred to His followers as lights (Matthew 5:14-16; Acts 13:47).
Light is not something we automatically have; it is something we must receive (Hebrews 10:32).
God calls us into His light (1 Peter 2:9).
God makes His light shine in the hearts of Christians to give us the light of knowledge of His glory through Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Light is given to the righteous, gracious, and compassionate (Psalm 97:11; Psalm 112:4; Proverbs 4:18; Proverbs 13:9).
Christians are instructed to live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 5:5).
Light from God shows us the way to live (Job 29:2-3; Psalm 43:3; Psalm 56:13; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 42:16).
God's justice is a light to the nations (Isaiah 51:4).
Earthly leaders who rule in righteousness and in the fear of God are compared to light (2 Samuel 23:3-4).
Those who walk in the light are blessed (Psalm 89:15).
Caring for those in need sheds light (Isaiah 58:7-8, 10).
Light is sweet and pleases the eye (Ecclesiastes 11:7).
Light is associated with being clothed in armor (Romans 13:12).
Light is associated with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom (Job 12:22; Job 28:11; Psalm 13:3; Psalm 19:8; Psalm 119:130; Ecclesiastes 2:13; Daniel 2:22; Luke 2:32; Acts 26:18).
Light is associated with justice (Isaiah 59:9).
Light is associated with victory (Psalm 44:3).
Light is associated with prosperity (Isaiah 45:7).
Light is associated with righteousness (Micah 7:9; Ephesians 5:9).
Light is associated with truth (John 3:21; Ephesians 5:9).
Light is associated with goodness (Ephesians 5:9).
Light is associated with love (1 John 2:9-10).
Light is association with purification (1 John 1:7).
Light is associated with sancitification (Acts 26:18).
Light is associated with forgiveness of sins (Acts 26:18; 1 John 1:7).
Light is associated with salvation (Isaiah 49:6).
Light is associated with life (Psalm 49:19; Psalm 56:13; Matthew 4:16; John 1:4; John 8:12; 2 Timothy 1:10).
If one does not speak according to God's Word, he has no light (Isaiah 8:20).
Evildoers hate the light (John 3:20).
Some rebel against the light (Job 24:13, 16).
Satan masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).
Light will reveal our deeds (1 Corinthians 3:13).
Secret sins and motives are exposed in the light (Psalm 90:8; John 3:20; 1 Corinthians 4:5; Ephesians 5:13-14).
What is hidden to us in darkness is visible to God as if in the light (Psalm 139:11-12).

Wow! There's a lot more to the subject of light than we may have originally thought. As Christians, when we study God's Word we enlighten our understanding of the Light. Consequently, we gain more light in order to shed more light on others so that they, too, can see the light and illuminate things for someone else.
