Love The Lord
by Kimberly B. Southall

When Jesus was asked which commandment is the most important, He answered:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." --Mark 12:30 (NIV)
It isn't difficult to love God. After all, He does so very much for each of us all of the time. But notice that Jesus says what loving God really means; He says how to love God. We are to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. In other words, we are to give God all of our love and all of ourselves. We should put God first in our hearts or feelings, in our souls or consciences-to the deepest part of our beings, and in our minds or thoughts. That might sound like a lot, but it isn't so difficult. The more time we spend reading the Bible, praying, thinking about God, and being with other people who also love God, the easier and more natural it becomes to love God the way we should.

Just remember how much God does for each of us every day. Remember how He sent His only Son to die a cruel death just so that we can spend eternity with Him. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Start today.
