The Best Defense . . .--by Kimberly B. Southall

Matthew 28:18-20Now that is it “football season” once again, a popular saying comes to mind: The best defense is a good offense.  Even though I don’t know much about football, I do grasp the meaning of that saying.  In other words, it is best to work toward achieving your own goal instead of waiting for the opponent to attack you and then try to defend yourself.

Do we, as Christians, practice this in our spiritual battle?  Are we “out there” trying to win more souls to Christ?  Or do we just sit on our pews, waiting for Satan’s next attack and hope we will be able to defend ourselves?

Remember, even in spiritual matters, the best defense is a good offense.
